Wedge prisms can be employed individually to deflect a laser beam at a specific angle, or two can be combined for beam steering purposes. A single prism's deflection capability is measured in Diopters, with one diopter deflecting the beam 1cm at a 1m distance. Two prisms can serve as an anamorphic pair for beam shaping, or be paired for steering within a circle defined by 4θ, where θ is the single prism deviation. This steering is achieved by independently rotating the prisms, often used in imaging applications. Note: Beam deflection is shown in degrees and diopters.
