Some time back, I stumbled upon a Frost 386 knife with intriguing marks on its blade and sheath. Intrigued, I bought it to decipher these markings. Over months, I discovered these marks were wagon numbers of Sweden's Iron Ore Line. Each wagon carried a knife for dispatching and butchering reindeer, unfortunately run over. Owned by Trafikverket, this 398 km line transports ore from mines to ports of Narvik and Luleå. The knife bears 'Y1 1293' and sheath 'Y1 1305', likely mixed up during use. Numbers weren't stamped by Frost but by buyers. This Frost 386 has a 127mm blade, rosewood handle, and black leather sheath. Notably, SJ State Railways had its own Morakniv, manufactured by KJ Eriksson, CA, and E. Jonsson.
