This Boeing 767, part of our expanding 'history collection', was delivered new to Lauda Air in 1992. Founded by Niki Lauda, an Austrian Formula 1 driver, this aircraft was named after his friend Ayrton Senna. It operated for Lauda Italy from 2003 to 2004, then rejoined the Lauda Air fleet in 2004, sporting the Star Alliance livery. In 2005, it was transferred to Austrian Airlines, repainted in Austrian colors, and renamed 'China'. In 2011, it was equipped with winglets to improve fuel efficiency. After nearly three decades of service, it was scrapped in 2021. The flagcut represents the Austrian red-white-red flag, where Lauda Air was registered.
