At 65, following retirement as a Para-Educator, I was blessed to have a friend who encouraged me to paint with acrylics. I had tried doing simple watercolor cards to sell at bazaars. The acrylics seemed out of my wheelhouse. We went to her house one day and prayed together that the Lord would help us and together we began our separate journeys. Our styles and choices were different, but it was so fun to have a buddy to talk with about painting. I followed many YouTube painter's beginner tutorials and then tried the technique on my own. I encourage you to follow and try. It has been so fun to learn new ways of doing things and experimenting. Some haven't worked but some have and that's what I love. It's the journey that is so fun and having the Lord's grace to be able to try new things. They are not perfect, they don't follow all the art rules but to me, that is the beauty of it all.
