In a distant future, humans have decided that their lives are too precious to risk in deep space exploration. Thus, on an alien planet with a hostile atmosphere, a race of artificial servants, the Artifitas, live under the expansive crown of the 'Ailanthus' space garden. Ein, a young Artifita explorer, is driven by a vague longing. He doesn't know when the expedition began or why it hasn't reached its goal yet. All he knows for sure is that, since they're stuck there for a while, he should find a girl, and he has the perfect one in mind. However, there are three obstacles. First, she's as cold and unfriendly as cosmic ice. Second, she's obsessed with exploring abandoned alien ruins hidden beneath the planet's cloud layer. And third, the ruins have started responding to her.
