The Engineered Jeans, released in 1999, inherited Levi's RED, the world's first 3D construction jeans, and reconstructed Levi's iconic 501 model.
The pattern, back style, and ease of movement around the knees and legs based on ergonomics, and the design with the side seams twisted inward on both sides, inspired by the twisting of the side seams that occurs over time, have been popular as functional design jeans since then.
The details feature a red patch with a two-horse mark that pays homage to Levi's RED, and the design incorporates the large inward twist of the side seams on both sides, just like the Engineered Jeans released in 1999.
The tapered silhouette also adds to the appeal, creating a naturally sleek look at the bottom.
