The saucer is also generous, measuring a full five and three quarters inches wide, with edge that flute up a full 7/8ths of an inch, allowing it to serve second duty as an impromptu pastry dish. The stripes themselves have a deep rich black color because of a special production process that involves overglazing the black color.
