Note: the bottom of the handmade spoon is unglazed, just as is the bottom of all pottery. The unglazed portion is high-fired stoneware pottery and is safe to use with food, similar to unglazed clay cookware. The bottom of the spoon can be more susceptible to stains from harsh liquids, but remains safe for microwave and dishwasher use.
