Protecting the bottom side of your doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult. The stock Gas Tank Skid plate is thin and will not hold up to abuse sliding over rocks off-roading. The Motobilt Gas Tank Skid Plate is designed and formed using the latest in laser cutting and press brake forming technology. The skid plate is laser cut from high strength 3/16” steel plate. The bottom of the skid plate features a “dimple” to accommodate the fuel pump section of the factory tank. The skid plate bolts back into the factory location utilizing the factory straps and hardware. This skid plate is designed to fit TJ models 1997 - 2006 and designed to fit the LJ Unlimited 2004-2006. The skid plate DOES NOT require a body lift to install. The skid plate ships in raw steel and will need paint before installing. We often rattle can skids plates because they will be sliding across rocks and other obstacles scratching them. With rattle can paint it is easy to repaint touching up when needed.
