ShowerNiche™ 8" x 20" Tileable Soap/Shampoo Shower Niche

8.25" X 20" (Interior Dimensions) Tileable Soap/Shampoo Shower Niche (Fixed Shelf) Primed and ready to be surfaced with Tile. Comes with Shelf pre-installed, made from durable PVCore composite material. Can be used with other ShowerNiche sizes to create custom niche configurations. Installation only takes a few minutes. Attaches to wall studs with tile backerboard screws. Once installed, just apply your thinset and decorative tile. Installation Instructions: 1. Securely attach ShowerNiche to one or two of the vertical framed wall studs using 2-3 framing or exterior decking screws. Be sure and allow the front edge of ShowerNiche to extend out beyond the studs equal to the thickness of backer board being installed. For existing wall installations, attach Niche flush with existing wallboard. 2. Apply a liberal amount of ShowerSeal Polyurethane sealant (or equal) to the outside of each screw head to fill any void. 3. Measure and cut backer board to fit snug around ShowerNiche. Apply a bead of ShowerSeal polyurethane sealant (or equal) around the outer perimeter of the Niche just prior to mechanical fastening of backer board to create a tight seam. 4. After backer board is secured around ShowerNiche, embed ShowerSeal Gauging Fabric (or equal) in ShowerSeal liquid waterproofing membrane (or equal) around all seams onto the ShowerNiche and wall backer board. 5. Coat all seams with ShowerSeal liquid waterproofing membrane (or equal) a second time to fully coat gauging fabric so that color of fabric is not visible and seams are sealed. 6. Complete waterproofing of all adjacent wall backer board per manufactures recommendations. 7. Once areas have dried, install tile (or other approved surface) with modified thin-set mortar per industry standard guidelines.
