The strong yet supple nature of the Signa Smooth 270 fine art paper comes from its 17 mil, 270 gsm weight. This is the type of paper that is easy to work with and very easy to frame; you cut it from the roll of smooth, matte-finish inkjet paper. It is not so unwieldy that it makes the task a chore. At the same time, it is sufficiently sturdy to become the ideal substrate for high-resolution prints of artwork and photos. Longevity is almost always a concern when creating prints. Archivists suggest using acid-free paper. When you maintain the material at a neutral pH of 7.0, you can achieve this goal. However, sometimes, the lignin of material processing itself creates problems. Breathing Color succeeded in avoiding its use during the paper’s wood pulp slurry phase.
