This bar was originally designed for those who wanted to perform bench presses but experienced pain in their shoulders when doing so. As a result, we investigated various hand positions to see if that would reduce or eliminate the shoulder pain. What we found is that a properly angled handle can help. We applied the findings to the design of our bar. In addition, to accommodate users of different shoulder widths, we added an additional handle to our former 3-grip bar.
