Vintage Chinese Cloisonné Enamel Bangle

This is an older vintage Chinese export cloisonné enamel bracelet, probably dating to the 1930s/1940s. It features lotus flowers and leaves, done in various shades of green, with yellow, pink, and purple flowers. The background enamel is a brilliant cobalt blue. There is slight variation in the wire work, or cloisonné, indicating the repeating design was hand applied, rather than machine made, as one would expect of an older piece. The interior is a striking bright blue enamel and also has two vent holes, necessary to facilitate the firing process, and one of the telltale signs of older handcrafted pieces. The metal base of the bracelet is likely brass, with gilt overlay on the exposed brass bands, found on the top and bottom. This wonderful treasure has an interior diameter of 2 5/8 inches and will fit the average sized wrist. It is a half inch wide and is in excellent condition – no chips or cracks.
